Comet Galaxy - a straight line of tidal debris / messy barred spiral

It must have been mentioned before since it is in this publication by Dr Keel. I think it needs more study. I'll repost in
Objects that need more research https://talk.galaxyzoo.org/#/boards/BGZ0000004/discussions/DGZ0000ycq
It is in Galaxy Zoo: A Catalog of Overlapping Galaxy Pairs for Dust Studies by Bill Keel http://ned.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/ex_refcode?refcode=2013PASP..125....2K

According to NED this galaxy is supposed to be in a paper about overlapping galaxy pairs. But, I don't understand, there is no overlapping galaxy near it, as far as I can see!
On the outskirts of the galaxy at 14:00, there is a small, round, green object. In NED it is listed as 'UvS' (ultraviolet source) under 'Type'. The interesting thing is that the broad beam of tidal debris seems to start right from it. Of course that may just be a chance alignment.

On DECaLS the material to the upper right looks like a very messy barred spiral, which seems like the interpretation from the overlapping-galaxy catalog. I do see your point about how straight the brighter parts are, and almost lined up with the elliptical galaxy.

Thank you Dr Keel. Then I understand. The existence of the messy barred spiral would explain all the tidal debris between the the two galaxies.
EDIT: Although to be called an overlap - the way the term is used in our galaxy classifications - the galaxy would have to be in front of another galaxy. No interaction would be taking place.
