Blue object in KiDS

A transient, I think. A cosmic ray hit probably, though it doesn't have typical sharp edges. A comet would be more exciting. A lensed supernovae would be even more exciting. 😃

Is it visible in SDSS? Maybe a faint green patch. I see other green patches too.

...Can't be an artifact / transient since it's visible in SDSS SkyServer, another survey.

The blue object is very dim in SkyServer, maybe that's why it's not visible in SDSS g, which is rather a grainy image.....by CeciliaB 9 hours ago
Strange that I can't see ANYTHING in SDSS g, only a bit of the greenish stuff. But blue certainly doesn't look like an artifact / transientby Ghost_Sheep_SWR 15 hours ago
Lovely link, the blue object is only in the g band. Either a strong emission in g, or an artifact. by Budgieye MODERATOR 19 hours ago

Also visible in the gri image I posted by Ghost_Sheep_SWR a day ago
GZ GAMA images are 2-coloured, but VSTKIDS is ugriz available on GAMA SWARP. If you look at those cutouts its only visible in g band (blue) by Ghost_Sheep_SWR a day ago
But maybe a scientist should look at it, I'll contact one. by Budgieye MODERATOR a day ago
GAMA-KiDS has only 2 colours, so extreme blueness may be an artifact. Not so amazing in SDSS or DECaLS. by Budgieye MODERATOR a day ago

As you said visible in multiple surveys, and also extended shape 😃 AGZ000dx0d by Ghost_Sheep_SWR a day ago
OK 😃 but come to think of it, objects sometimes look very blue in GAMA images e.g. asteroids. by CeciliaB a day ago
Might I suggest putting it in 'Objects that need more research' thread 😃 by Ghost_Sheep_SWR 2 days ago
wow that object is 100% blue! another part to the left is mostly green, weird! VSTKIDS gri image; https://i.imgur.com/jRMAaSP.png by Ghost_Sheep_SWR 2 days ago
It's difficult to say what the blue cloud is, but it can't be an artifact because it's visible in both SDSS and DECaLS. by CeciliaB 2 days ago
What is the blue thing? by Anyonymous_321 3 days ago
bright eccentric core or foreground object at 9 by Sirritanga 13 days ago
PanSTARRS
Not much to see in PanSTARRS even in the g image.
