Looks by all appearances like two objects combining around one huge merged #AGN, the #debristrail reveals previous angular momentum .... given the vast timeframes involved it is hard to say when 2 galaxies will actually combine a great proportion of their total mass into one larger galaxy and move in unison as a single galaxy ... but this one shows the possibility for a vast preponderance of the mass of 2 galaxies to come together as one. I flag a lot of things #merger, and most are likely overlap or at best a collision, from which two or more separate objects will eventually emerge.. This one, however, seems likely to be truly merging at this time.
