http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/explore/obj.asp?id=1237659931071808195 shows the central cloud but the arc @ 10 o'clock looks related...

I think those clouds are part of M31. From SkyServer, go to Navigate and zoom way out -- they look like they're on the edge of the disk. Beautiful!

yes, it is lovely but where do i read the red-shift of these photons, i wonder? :dunno:
edited to add: --- if it is associated with M31 Andromeda (and has not been ejected in a direction away from Milky Way) then wouldn't it have a blue-shift ? :ask:

If there is a redshift available in SDSS you will see it on SkyServer -- it will be a spectroscopic target and have a SpecObjID. This one doesn't so it's not easy to verify what its velocity (possibly a blueshift) is.
