  thanks for your help elizabeth b. how in the future will i be able to distinguish 2 stars close together (seemingly joined and not symmetrical) from 2 galaxies close together?

  classify lots of pictures and then you'll get a feel for it ! 😉
  Usually, when objects are very round and very bright, they're stars. Most of the time.
