Disk or Ring?

  This galaxy has 2 wispy spiral arms, but also a bright prominent oval surrounding its center. Is this oval classified as a ring or is it just considered disk? I'm trying be more precise in my descriptions and have seen similar galaxies. Thanks.

  Wondering the same thing myself i.e. not sure whether to describe as a disk or a ring.

  Hiya,

  I can see two very faint spiral arms and a gorgeous inner ring. But most people will classify this as a ring, so both classifications are equally correct ! For some things, there isn't a right or wrong answer. And having lots of different classifications is usually a sign that something weird is going on ! 😄
