Here are three galaxies merging.

If you go to Skyserver and navigate toward left corner, you'll find three galaxies all at Z about 0.01 full of newly forming stars and starlight. If these galaxies are so close and merging, why haven't they been studied?

NGC 3991 GPair UGC 06933 VV 523 and 10 notes in NED I think the galaxy is being studied

is this a spiral viewed on the edge or like in the discussion said a merger of 3 ?

i would "think" merger myself but nonetheless it is amazing and very dynamic looking
