  Or just background star, but skyserver doesn't identify it as such?

  Never a background star. The galaxies in these images are so much farther away than any star (from our Milky Way).
  Any stars we see are always foreground stars.
  And, btw, Skyserver sometimes makes a mistake or it doesn't recognise what we see !
  That's why we still need human eyes to look at these pics !
