Stars or multiple galactic nuclei?

  I classified this as stars/artifacts. Others discussed it as "a red caterpillar" or something else galactic. I'm writing only about the 3 orange dots at the very center of the field of view; the 2 brighter blue objects near them are most likely stars.

  Anybody know for sure what it is?
