tidal debris?

There are huge wisps of material extending out from a very pronounced massive nucleus. On SkyServer it looks a bit like a dragonfly, with large "wings" extending off in a couple of directions. I really can't tell if the nucleus is clearing a dark area nearby, or if those are dust lanes making it look dark. This thing is very irregular. I hope others might let me know what is known about this phenomenon.
