Saturated pixels to the lower left in the blue halo of the galaxy. Supernova or artifacts?

More likely to be an #artifact; however, if it's astronomical, I doubt that it'd be a supernova ... but why not check, using NED perhaps?

No references to a supernova being discovered here in NED
It is an near feature, though. You can see in the GZ Examine tool that the green spots only appear in the middle, r-band filter. Might have been a cosmic ray on the detector, but it could be a real feature. Wish we had a spectrum of this galaxy.
Check it out here: I suggest choosing "logarithm" from the dropdown menu and then looking at the g, r, and i bands.

Is the Skyserver another set of exposures, or is it the same batch? Because there is a bright thing in the same spot http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/explore/obj.asp?id=1237671140400431167
