What is this?

Could it be a black hole or is this an artifact?

It's a bright star in our own galaxy. The strange colors and the four-pointed star are the results of light being reflected and scattered off various parts of the telescope and within the camera.

The object at the center of the image - which is what we're supposed to classify - looks, to me, like a blob in the upper-left diffraction spike (as the 'compass points' of the 'star' are called). If so, then it's an #artifact

Yes, I agree -- the computer confused a diffraction spike for a galaxy! I'd mark this #artifact too.
