What is the giant red cross? Is it the beams of a giant star or perhaps a whole galaxy? This appears to be a very blurry image. I'm not sure I think there are various other galaxies in the background. I would so appreciate it if someone could write me back about this image. I'm taking an astronomy class in college and would really appreciate a response. Thanks so much!

The spiky object is a foreground star from our galaxy. The colors, spikes (diffraction spikes) and rings are all optical artifacts. The fuzzy objects in this image are galaxies.
Happy hunting ! 😄
