  Is this an elpitical irregular ? or one spiral viewed edged on ?

  I have some troubles with Smooth Cigars Shaped with central condensation Vs spiral seen edged on.

  There is not really a manual, sorry.

  As for the difference between smooth cigar shaped and edge on galaxies : edge on galaxies have more pointed ends like the one to the left). Smooth cigar shaped ones are more rounded.
