Is this just a bar through the galaxy or something else?

Here's the image in the optical (image flipped)
According to SDSS it is a starburst galaxy, So the colorful dot could be an active star forming area. But the color is very odd. I'll try and find out more.

The green patch is almost certainly a star-forming region with strong H-alpha emission, which is in the SDSS r filter at low redshift (shown as green in the default RGB display). The SDSS spectrum shows string emission lines with the right ratios to be lit up by young stars, and looks like it was centered on the galaxy core and probably didn't include all of the green area to its west. This is a funny lopsided galaxy (otherwise known to NED as VCC 513, where VCC = Virgo Cluster Catalog; it's nearby and pretty much a dwarf). Other than that region, I can sort of see a barred spiral with a clear arm on the northern side. Or maybe it's just lumpy...
