Wierd red and green lines.

Hi, I'm new to galaxy zoo and came across a photo with strange red and green perfectly straight lines across it (AGZ00044k4). There is no sign of a prominent galazy in the picture and I was wondering what the lines might be. Are they just an effect of the telescope, or something else?

Hi Bluepython and welcome to the Zoo !
These are satellite trails.
The satellite reflects the sunlight and because of its speed it gets caught in just one filter.
Satellite trails can also be blue.Nice catch ! 😄

I'm sure you got this, from ElisabethB's post, but just in case not ... satellite trails are a kind of #artifact, a fairly common one (though to get two, one green and one red, in one image is pretty rare!)
Happy hunting! 😃
