Is the bright spot in the right of this galaxy significant?

Hi Paul,
That looks like a starburst - a region of intense star formation. It is important, as it raises questions as to what triggered the starburst in the first place.
In this 'almost' edge on / disk galaxy we can see several star forming regions, they are somewhat fainter, but they are there.
