Green Colour

It may be an artifact, but let's ask the question anyway: what is that green colour?

I am complete noob, but If it is not an artifact (which I think it is ) it could be a hot hydrogen (Hα emissions)
Or something like this

I can't post an image as I am currently at work, but it is an artifact.
Go and have a look in the 'r filter - you can see a defect extending from the top of the image to the bottom.

It is a bad column of ccd pixels, which magnifies the colour. . artifact #artifact
