what is this Blue gas

i was wondering what is this blue gaz which is quite huge !!
is it an artifact or ...
id be glad if i get some explanation !!

Nope, not an artifact but a lovely reflection nebula.

could this be a gas cloud in the foreground obscurring a spiral in the distance?

If you zoom out, you'll see there's extensive foreground #nebulosity
What's strange about this part of it is that it's so blue!
