  I'd love to know what this picture is, specifically the three blue Spheres in the canter around what appears to be a large haze in the center. Thank you.

  The blue streaks indicate locations of newly forming stars in the galaxy. It's a particular feature of these images, which are actually simulations of galaxies created by a computer. Star formation in real galaxies typically doesn't look quite as blue.
