This very bright mass is very weird at the centre left and also the dimmer on the bottom, I can't see if that's behind or in front of the galaxy or in it but very bright

That looks like a super-bright object in front of the galaxy; probably a star. It's not a temporary event, since it also shows up in the Sloan images taken several years ago. http://skyserver.sdss.org/dr9/en/tools/chart/navi.asp?ra=238.59991&dec=10.90855&opt=
