Green Supernova?

    What colour are supernova?...because there's a very green object at 5oclock in the SDSS image for this one

    It is already flagged up in several papers as SN 2001fg 😃

    And in the SDSS images they will be green or blue.

    Still awesome!

    Yes - they are only visible for a few weeks. It could be observed for longer in X-ray, but the best way to detect them is visually.

    Still - you saw a Super Nova!

    Looks more like a artifact than a SN. You can see similar discolouration in other areas of the galaxy. I would suggest downloading the FITS images to see if it is visible in multiple filters. If it is, then source images taken on different dates in order to narrow down the time period that it was visible.
