Welcome to Galaxy Zoo, Ktdizzy!
This is an elliptical galaxy, quite close to us (cosmologically speaking; its redshift is only 0.029). It has many names, perhaps the best-known is CGCG 380-023. If you look at it, zoomed out, in SDSS, you can see its nature quite clearly:
Its nucleus does seem rather bright, and its spectrum tells us that that's likely due to it being an AGN; its super-massive black hole is (or was) likely feeding ...
