The bright star/ galaxy in the top right hand corner has some strange blue, purple and black interference or something over it and the central feature seems like a round blob with perhaps a hint of a faint bar?

The object top right is indeed a foreground star from our galaxy. The colors, spikes and weird blue/purple spike trough the centre are very common optical artifacts (sorry ! ).
