The galaxy is a simulated galaxy from the Illustris data set. (http://blog.galaxyzoo.org/2015/09/21/new-images-for-galaxy-zoo-part-2-illustris/)
The blue smudges are star forming areas in the galaxy. (http://blog.galaxyzoo.org/2015/11/11/blue-stuff-in-the-illustris-galaxy-images/)The bright spot (top right) is a foreground star from our galaxy.
Happy hunting ! 😄

I thing this is akin to the BigFoot/BigFeet that we came across in GZ3 and were discussed in The Forum ([here])(http://www.galaxyzooforum.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=7d8uelr2cn30si5dq048ktehl0&topic=280269.0 ). There was less nebulosity, but a deal more nebulosity appears to be a characteristic of Illustris simulations which has been discussed elsewhere. My guess is that if you take out the nebulosity you would have a similar sort of thing to BigFoot.
