  Does the white star on the ring belong to the galaxy or is it in the foreground? On the invert, it looks to belong to the galaxy, but I am unsure. Thanks

  It looks like a foreground star to me (and to Skyserver as well ! 😄 )

  Looks like a supernova went off in that galaxy.
