i just can't exactly tell what it is. There are several bright spots and its very muggy

I think it is an edge on spiral with a huge halo, or a lenticular.

It is odd. The white part (SW) is the SDSS PO, SDSS J095621.64-001505.1. It has a spectrum (zsp 0.021), with very strong emission lines (and far-from-weak H-delta onward absorption lines):
The nucleus is not a separate PO 😦
Perhaps a late-stage merger?
