Green Pea / asteroid

  • ratprincess by ratprincess

Is the object on the upper left side a green pea or simply an artifact?

Definitely an asteroid, image is clear in DECaLS Browser, and if you click on SDSS images, it disappears (cus it moves)

I realized that it was not shown in the SDSS image. Cool. So this is how I tell whether something is an asteroid. Thanks. Maybe I will eat more green peas and one of these days I might see a pea. lol

The green smudge is probably an asteroid. And I'm not sure I'd call
this galaxy an elliptical. The bulge is rather prominent.

Sorry, the stomach part was in relation to Elisabeth's reply concerning her uncertainty whether the galaxy is an elliptical due to the prominence of the bulge. 😄

I think the galaxy is too fuzzy for me to decide how much of a bulge it has.
