It looks like the blue star is pushing against the galaxy. How is this possible? Or is this some lens? Or maybe the galaxy is just deformed this way?

The blue/white object is indeed a foreground star from our galaxy, so any interaction with the central galaxy is just not possible ! It's a great line of sight ! 😄
