I classified that as tidal debris but on 2nd thoughts... really? what would cause it? Any opinions please?

Merely speculating, but there might be / have been interaction with the smaller galaxy at 7 o'clock;
Central starburst spiral spectra z= 0.06004
Smaller galaxy SDSS DR9 PhotoZ z=0.061531 zErr=0.013261
Smaller galaxy SDSS DR13 PhotoZ z=0.059082 zErr=0.014397
So still a large error margin but both in the same z=0.06 range
