Problem with Galaxy Zoo examine link
-
by ermesy
Whenever I click on the "Galaxy Zoo examine" link on the talk pages, I get redirected back to the GalaxyZoo homepage. Does anyone else have the same problem? I'm using Safari 5.1.10 on MacOs 10.6.8 and I've found that trying to access other Zooniverse projects presents me with nothing more than a blank page. Do I need to upgrade Safari?

Try this " copy paste the link in a new empty web-page, but before you press 'GO' I manually change HTTP at the beginning to HTTPS "

Budgieye; good news (and perhaps bad news); after fiddling around some time it looks like i've found the problem and simple solution.I think i've finally managed to make the links work properly for me 😃 the ones i tried work with this;
copy paste the link in a new empty web-page, but before I press 'GO' I manually change HTTP at the beginning to HTTPS
I .... That's all really and then they work properly 😃(Well not the exact same location to the letter, but at least to the proper index page and very close to the particular subject)
by vrooje ADMIN, SCIENTIST Remove This is a known issue where Google
Analytics is not playing nice with Talk links.GA tracks statistics in part by adding information to the end of
links, e.g. a link to this page would have a string added to the end
of it that the GA javascript would interpret when it loads the page. However, sometimes when the code gets updated, GA inserts the code in
the wrong place, and it causes the link to break. So, for example, the
link posted at the top of the page:https://talk.galaxyzoo.org/?_ga=1.244656832.476670387.1443719759#/boards/BGZ0000001/discussions/DGZ0000wrb is broken because the original link was to
https://talk.galaxyzoo.org/#/boards/BGZ0000001/discussions/DGZ0000wrb
and the GA code "?_ga=1.244656832.476670387.1443719759" has been
inserted right after the base URL instead of at the end of the full
URL.These GA links are inserted on the fly when you click, so when you're
writing the post it looks like everything is fine, and then when
someone clicks, it's broken.I believe the developers have submitted a bug report to Google about
it, but I'm not sure that really means anything...Sorry to not have better news.

Thanks Budgieye, that works.

BTW - I've also found that accessing the image in question via profile --> favourites then clicking on "SDSS Skyserver" or "NED Search" also works.
