  It is an irregular galaxy. The red stars look brown in this image.

  Dust is invisible, unless

  It makes a silhouette against the galaxy such as a dustlane.

  Or hot light,such as UV light shines on it and makes it glow purple
  red or green, as in AGN illumated clouds, voorwerps or vorwerpjes
