  The stars are disturbed toward the top of the image and to the bottom right.. Bottom right may be an edge on galaxy merger or perhaps just a dust lane. The stars in the top seem to have been knocked out of the Galaxy. I would appreciate any help.

  The interesting blue area is due to lots of star formation. Its brightness may just be an artifact, due to image compression. If I expand my screen using CTL +, it doesn't seem as bright.
