Red Giant?

Is this red entity a Red Giant? What is going on in the very bottom? Any other cool stuff you see? This is the most beautiful photo I've seen yet.

The red thing is a red star. Remember to classify the object in the middle, which is a slight disturbed nearly edge-on spiral.

Thanks. New to this and trying to ask so I can judge what each object is for the future (and that makes it more fun, too). I did classify the galaxy in the middle, which is gorgeous. Do you know what the thing in the bottom right is that looks white'ish and blue'ish?

The blue thing is a yellow foreground star in our own galaxy. It looks blue because the brightness has overloaded the ccds. This is strange because red stars don't usually do this. There is another similarly affected star nearby. http://skyserver.sdss.org/dr9/en/tools/explore/obj.asp?id=1237678660348215320
It is reasonably close to us, since it appears to move slightly in the sky each year.
If you look around the edge, you can see its real colour.

Here it is in a different sky survey, where you can see it looks yellow.
