Merger?

    I hope that I have classified this correctly as a merger, the blueish feature on the right hand side looks like it is raised slightly above the main galaxy plain. I don't known if I am right or if the bluish bit is a galaxy behind the main one and they are just superimposed.

    I'd go for a genuine interaction between the galaxies - even if you ignore the smaller lump, the main galaxy is asymmetric, with the nucleus off-center and an overall outline with a hint of triangular.

    Thanks NGC3314, it did look like something had distorted the main galaxy, I am not trained beyond Secondary School in Physics so am trying to understand what I am seeing in these pictures.
