The coloured spike and the circular thingy are optical artifacts caused by a bright foreground star from our galaxy outside of this image.

It is most definitely an artifact. The spikes and the round structure are optical artifacts caused by a bright star outside of this image.

The picture is mostly an artifact, but there is a galaxy at its center.
