Looks like interstellar dust in the foreground. Spectra analysing may prove interesting. Supernova remnants?

What exactly is happening in this image? There are many colors, and shapes. Are there multiple galaxies shown?

Galaxy is a disturbed edgeon. The white-blue object is a star in our galaxy, ruining the image. Other small things are more stars.
