It looks like a galaxy but what is that small shiny silver thing is it a planet or a star

To the bottom left? That's a foreground star, in our own galaxy; it looks a little funny because it's fairly bright (for an SDSS star! It's far too faint to see with your own eyes, without a good telescope): the light bounces around inside the telescope and camera, and saturates some of the pixels in the detector, causing 'an overflow'
