Blue light

    I wonder what the source of that blue light is, it appears something is eclipsing the source.

    It's a fairly bright star, in our own galaxy. With stars as bright as this, many strange artifacts are often seen, such as the odd 'eclipse-like' core, and the four 'spikes' (they're called 'diffraction spikes'). The artifacts are caused by light bouncing around inside the camera.
