    Yes, it has a spectrum; to me it looks like any other 'dead and red' elliptical (z_sp = 0.031) ...

    Hello Jean, thank you. The ukidss image looked very different with a bright ring at the core and what looked like a strong purple arc on the left hand side. I'm very out of touch and out of practice so thanks for taking the time to comment and put me right. I appreciate it.

    For some help with finding rings in UKIDSS images:
    For one, these are very rare. Only a handful (10-20) would probably be found in the images. But if you are insistent to try to beat the odds and find one, usually lenses in these images are very red. AGZ0006xgi for example:

    This is a controversial find, and not certain in nature, but whether or not it is, this is what a lens would look like in UKIDSS images.
