disk around centre object

Im not sure if this is a result of the imaging process , but there seems to be a disk around the central mass in this galaxy

I think it's because the nucleus is very bright; much the same thing can be seen in the SDSS image (note that the 'size' of the 'central disk' is quite different from that of the UKIDSS one):

@cktwigg right for the result of image processing when you look at examine/raw data in different wavelenghts:
only core in y and full extension in k. The superposition of the two gives you this false-positive ring. :_)
