    What is the object in the top left corner? The remaining objects I believe are galaxies but that one is interesting. Bright too.

    That is a foreground star from our own galaxy 😃

    One of the purposes of the SDSS survey was to image really distant galaxies. To do that the exposure had to be quite long.

    This caused some interesting artifacts when close by, bright objects happened to be in the frame. Here we have diffraction spikes and over saturation.
