The Green Beem

    Hello Please would you be able to help me?
    I was having a go on Galaxy Zoo as David Bacon came into my school at Miltoncross and told us about it.
    As I was looking through, this photo appeared and I was a bit confused on what the big green line was in the corner of the photo.

    I hope you will be able to message me back on what it is and help me become unconfused.

    Hi and welcome Alanya 😃

    The green streak is a satellite trail 😃

    Satellites sometimes pass overhead as the telescope is observing and reflect light in a streak across the image as they pass by.
    They move quickly so their trails are always a single color: red, green, or blue. Sometimes you can classify the central galaxy, other
    times there is no central galaxy because the computer got a bit confused.
