Large red disk

What is the origin of the large red disk. The answer will allow me to describe the galaxies better. Is it another G in front?

Welcome to Galaxy Zoo, Chris Mountford!
It's a star, in our own galaxy, the Milky Way. By chance, it happens to be almost exactly on the same sight-line to the nice blue galaxy, far in the background. The odd colors - of this star and the two below the galaxy - are artifacts of the image processing software.
Happy hunting! 😃
