I use the cross hairs on the first "View on SkyServer" image, and they point to the off-center blob. near the middle's edge. So does the 'grid' on the large SkyServer image.

That spot of light looks to be the same color as some nearby stars, and that is the main reason I think it could be a foreground star. Whatever... To me, it is a question of commenting in a manner that can help a researcher, and on this topic, I actually have little insight.

The location of the center of galaxies is determined by a software program, and since it is just a computer it makes mistakes. It can't even tell the difference between a galaxy and three stars in a row. It looks as if it is locked onto what is possibly a star.

This is only Galaxy Zoo 4. Possibly in the future, in Galaxy Zoo 42, we can sort out these inconsistencies.

Right now on Talk, enthusiasts post unusual objects, and more experienced posters decide it it is unusual, then alerts a scientist to look at it.

    Hope this helps, 😃
