Head and Tail

This object appears to me to have a "head and tail". There's a bright spot on the top right of the object and it appears to taper, dim, and curve upward at the bottom left. Thoughts?

The bright blue 'head' is probably an active star forming region in this disturbed spiral or disk galaxy seen edge on.
