Off-center bulge?

This one is particularly odd. Very disturbed, yet clearly spiral. The tighter edge is starforming my guess, but do the clear spiral remnants indicate a late-stage merge?

Not that far apart in astronomical terms!
It could mean one of two things:
- that they have interacted with each other in the past and are moving away from each other (a fly by), or;
- they are starting to interact with each other and are moving towards each other and could possibly merge.
Impossible to say which just by looking at this image 😃
