This image seems to me like two galaxies in the middle of a Merge. The cores are almost impacting together

Sorry, but these two objects are definitely not merging. They are both foreground stars from our galaxy and they only appear to be touching. And the colors are not real either. Lots of imaging and filter problems here.
Just classify as star/artifact.
