    Could somebody please explain why this galaxy is so green?

    This is a simulated image - I don't think the green blob in the lower right is meant to be a galaxy, it looks more like an over exposed foreground star.

    Perhaps one of the scientists can clarify 😃

    Yes, that's correct - the galaxy is the one in the center (we always want you to classify only the object in the center, even if you see other ones in the image).

    The green object is likely a foreground star, yes - the Illustris objects are superimposed on real sky images from the SDSS, so that includes all the usual objects you'd see like other stars, galaxies, the occasional imaging artifact, etc.
