What are the red dots? Is it merging with galaxy in top left hand corner?

Hi Nib1943 and welcome to the Zoo
The red dots are foreground stars from our galaxy. And the fuzzy object (top left) is another galaxy. But both galaxies are very fuzzy and there is no distortion visible. No way to tell if there is a merger going on without additional data.
